SKIN REJUVINATION WITH THE IPL AND HOME CARE PRODUCTS

The IPL is proving to work well in combination with skin peeling with sonopeel or micro-dermabrasion and a range of skin care products.

Glycolic cleansers such as M&M 4%

Vitamin C skincare using m&m range including the nourishing facial mask.

The treatment procedure is a thorough cleanse with glycolic cleanser, followed by some kind of peel either a sonopeel or micro dermabrasion, depending on the skin type, sonopeel is less aggressive for more fragile or sensitive skins.  The IPL is then used followed by a vitamin c treatment with a mask from the M&M range.

For home care serum C25 is recommended for day care.

This product contributes to the slowing down of the aging process: it prevents loss of skin tonus and elasticity and irregular complexion.

The serum is high in antioxidents and protects against free radicals that cause skin deterioration also it increases the skins defences against sunrays and hydration.

The active ingredients of methylsilanol ascorbate is a stable form of vitamin C and is essential to collagen and elastin synthesis.  Methylsilanol ascorbate evens out the skin complexion.

The content of vitamins are 25% vitamin C vitamins A, B, E and polyphenols.

This product is applied on the face and neck in the morning and can be used as an eyecream also due to its light consistancy.  It makes and ideal make up base

Serum C25 will have improved results by using turnover (dermal synthesis stimulation) or light ceutic (tone improvement) at night.

Hyal ceutic is another day care product in this range and is for intense hydration.

Hyal ceutic hydrates, smoothes the skin and limits the destructive effects of free radicals, it also maintains the results of hyaluronic acid fillers.

The night time treatment that compliments these day time products is the turnover night care.

This cream slows down the skin aging process by stimulating natural skin turnover, collagen and elastin synthesis, it also helps the skin regain tone and elasticity, and it is suitable for all skin types and as part of a skin rejuvenation programme.

This product is applied sparingly

CHROMOLITE  SKIN REJUVINATION

The signs of aging and sun-damage on the face can be formed  from multiple components; loss of elastin and collagen from the dermal matrix forms lines and wrinkles and gives the skin that dull, sagging appearance with large open pores.  Pigmentation changes caused by excessive prolonged sun exposure can leave the skin with distinct brown spots and patches.  Enlarged or broken capillaries and a thinning of the skin can produce red flushed areas or even distinct visible veins especially around the nose and cheek areas.

While no single system is available on the market to deal with 100% with all of these conditions,  Chromolite will perform a skin rejuvenation treatment that will help to soften the visible aspects of all factors; softening lines and wrinkles and tightening skin, reducing pigmentation and vascular conditions.

New collagen is formed in response to the body’s perceived injury to heal the wound, whether that is by surgical intervention or traumatic injury.  The light from the Chromolite penetrates deep into the dermal layer of the skin tissue, heating up the dermal microvasculature and triggering off this “healing” response.

In a similar method, Chromolite can reduce the appearance of vascular conditions by directly targeting the veins and capillaries involved and closing them down. The light from the Chromolite targets the blood in these capillaries and heats it up causing thermocagulation without causing damage to the surrounding tissue.  The heat from this light absorption is then transferred to the walls of the vessel, which become sticky and close the vessel off from further blood flow.

The treatment of pigmentation is very similar to the treatment of unwanted hair, since in both, light is absorbed by melanin.  The melanin in the unwanted lesion rises in temperature and is irreversibly damaged.  Once this occurs the damaged particles of melanin are disposed of by the body , leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

Preparation if the skin to be treated is important and home care products, peels or microdermabrasion can be used to remove the dead and diseased outer layer of skin cells to smooth out the surface of the skin to minimise scattering and allow good penetration of the light.

The repair part of the skin rejuvenation process is carried out by the Chromolite, reducing pigmentation and vascular irregularities and improving skin and integrity with collagen stimulation.

The need for further maintenance depends on the age, life style and sun exposure.

After the initial 6 treatments together with peels, vitamin C treatments and homecare products a six monthly maintenance is recommended.

Pigmented lesions are caused by an excess of melanin in certain skin cells (melanin is the substance that gives the skin its colour).  Some pigmented lesions, such as café-au-lait, hormonal and UV damage, are closer to the surface, while others are deeper in the dermal layer.

SOLAR LENTIGINES

Solar Lentigines, or liver spots are directly related to sun exposure and have nothing to do with the liver. They are formed of skin damage caused by years of cumulative sun exposure.  They are benign, flat, lesions that may be round or oval with a distinct border and can be on the face, backs of hands forearms, chest and upper back.

Together with homecare products and peels, the face, neck, décolleté and back of hands can be rejuvenated.

ACNE TREATMENT WITH CHROMOLITE

Acne typically begins during adolescence, when hormonal changes cause the enlargement of sebaceous glands and an excessive production of sebum in the skin.

This, combined with follicular pigment hypercornification, blocks the follicles and provides a perfect warm non-oxygenated environment for bacteria to thrive on.

Although most people eventually outgrow their acne, some individuals remain susceptible to it throughout their lives.  Even for those who no longer generate new symptoms, permanent scarring can often occur.

Treatment with light therapy has long been recorded.  Many acne sufferers will see a vast improvement of their acne when on holiday to sunnier climes, but a regression when they return home.  10-15 years ago it was common for a GP to advise sunbed treatments for mild cases and in more recent times the use of red and blue light sources has been documented to produce improvements although very frequent exposure is needed (2-3 times a week).

This improvement of acne lesions when exposed to certain wavelengths of light is because acne is a photo-sensitive disease.  P.acne bacteria contain endogenic porphyrins which are4 stimulated by blue and yellow to attack the bacteria.  With successive treatments of Chromolite, the rate of acne destruction can be enhanced to be greater than that of acne bacteria growth, leading to the reduction of inflamed lesions and the prevention of further scarring.

As with skin rejuvenation the use of homecare products greatly improve the end result of the Chromolite treatment.  It is important that the homecare products are not self prescribed harsh alcohol based products that may be to aggressive on the skin.

The products that should be used will usually be based on salicylic, benzoyl peroxide  and glycolic preparations.  Once the inflammation has been  reduced  other treatments such as microdermabrasion can also help considerably to improve the epidermis and prevent further follicular blockage/comedone formation.

Maintenance will certainly be required of Chromolite treatment since it is exposure of the skin to the light that reduces the bacteria presence.  Without  regular maintenance the level of bacteria will gradually increase to inflammation levels once more.

Clinical observations have indicated that a course of 10  is recommended taken 1-2 times weekly.

It is important that there has been no UV exposure, skin tanning, tanning beds or tanning creams have not been recently used.
